Redhill School Cross Country 2019
We had a great day dressing up. Some people from Tui Wātea dressed in red just because it was there (We did not make them!) Pohutukawa received extra house points for their dressing up on the day.
The M&M's nearly melted with the warmer weather.

What Inspires You? - Music
We have used a couple of different resources to help learn these notes. We even learnt rhymes from the olden days used for skipping. Which the children then tried out - Tinker, Tailor...
We fingered the notes with the recorder on our chin a couple of times before we tried to play it. It was tricky trying ot read the notes, it really is another language.

In the Weekend - Rugby
In the weekend I had the pleasure of watching some of our boys playing rugby. It was wonderful being in the right place at the right time. It helped my son had played the earlier game at Karaka.

Food For Thought - Day 2
Today we looked at the Ingredients and the Nutrition information on a packet.
Less ingredients is healthier, the more in the packet the more processed it is.
Top three ingredients have the highest content in the packet. E.g. Raro sugar is the first so a packet of Raro is mostly sugar.
Look for average per 100g
A serving size can vary, so not not always the best option to compare.
Fruit is healthy because of the fibre, when you squeeze it you lose the fibre, so less healthy because still has sugar and no fibre that helps our body to process the sugar.
5 teaspoons of sugar is all the sugar we should have, this affects our teeth.
Some drinks have caffeine, as it makes our heart pumps and keeps us awake. Caffeine also stops the calcium's work to strengthen our bones and protect our teeth enamel.

Whetu and Nick - The Quest for the Map the Kite and the Sacred Maunga.
The best part was when Nick was learning how to speak Maori. - Chad
When Nick signalled the ship to with the gun it stun a bird which fell from the sky, then the bird was alive again. - Jordan
I like when Whetu kepe calling the winds name "Tawhiri-Rangi". - Tawhirimatea
It was funny when Nick was learning Whetu name the wind was trying to help him. - Kingston
The lady who was the wind kept teasing Nick and Whetu and it made me laugh - Janaya
I liked how Whetu only spoke Maori and couldn't speak any other language because Nick was the first person she had meet from another country. - Demitrious
The way they used the lights to create the changing background was fascinating. - Dan
I like when Nick created his own wind and the Tawhiri-Rangi moaned I am the only one allowed to make wind.! - Danielle
When Nick pulled out the carrot thinking it would protect him was funny too. - Tinara
The stage was set in a way they could use it for many scenes. - Moala
When Whetu was trying to learn Nick's name she copied him word for word I am Nick." - Malakai
It was create that our whole school and class were able to go.
