Creating Patterns
Over the last few weeks, we have been looking at patterns. We start with Samoan Language week and creating Sasa and Siapo. Then we created Kowhaiwhai patterns. Each pattern we learnt told a story.
In groups we created repeating patterns for maths can you pick the pattern each group has created?

Samoan Language Week
We are learning about numbers, so we thought to add fun to counting in Samoan we would try to create a Sasa or two.

I have included a few of the videos too, so you can see the fun we had.

Maori Language Week - Part 5
We had to recreate a Maui Myth using google slides to make an animation. I had a lot of fun doing it, I just had to remember to duplicate the slide then move the characters and the sun before adding speech.

Tongan Language Week
We are learning about healthy eating so our teacher thought we should find the names of healthy foods in Tongan. Some of them were easy as they were like Maori, others were really tricky.

Maori Language Week - Ta Moko
- Looked at pictures ngā To Moko.
- Looked at the possible meaning in the Ta Moko patterns. Such as knowledge, an expert in fishing, with crops, building...
- Traditionally Ta Moko was made with a chisel.
- Ta Moko starts out small and grows as the person grows in experience and knowledge. The females usually only have their chin done. But they all can add more to their bodies.
- Painting a mask with skin colour, or close to it.
- Designed our Ta Moko
- Drew on our Ta Moko onto our mask with vivid.
Watch for our finished masks.
