We had fun adding our own thoughts from our devices about what we know and what we want to know about plants.
We are a learning space of 40 children with 2 teachers and a teacher aide. Our students this year have a range of abilities and ages.

I didn't know what exaggeration was. I am now using it in my stories and it is lots of fun to try and trick people. - Susana

Softball Sessions
Every Monday morning we start the week off with Softball. This week was the first time Mrs Mundy was able to join us. She is usually is on release. The best part is playing rounders at the end. Where we throw 2 balls and run around the 4 bases as many times as possible. Each time round is one point.

Whanākitanga Census Study
We have been learning about the New Zealand Census.
We learnt why some people struggle to start the Census and why others prefer paper.
Everyone in E1 can speak English.
We learnt why some people struggle to start the Census and why others prefer paper.
I learnt that most of the class like to work in a quiet space and at tables.
So we may need to get more.
The same number of people don't mind finishing work tomorrow as those who feel they need to finish it now.
Everyone in E1 can speak English.
We are lucky we have one person who can speak 4 languages and is learning 2 others.

Pedal Power - Session 1
Welcome to Whanaakitanga 2018
Well it is week 3 and we are well into the swing of things here at Red Hill School. We have a busy term with a range of activities to enhance learning. Some of the fun planned is Softball, Bike Safety and Cricket with Counties Manukau. Swimming lessons and Whanau fun day at Massey Park Pools. Towards the end of the term we will be having out EOTC day where we have further opportunities to show how we can all work together.
The school to continues to grow and develop and we hope to see some of our new school being built this year. Here we are sitting on the new bleachers outside the hall facing the field. Great for relaxing on.
So far our class has 22 students, mostly boys and we are hoping everyone will turn up.

Weaving baskets using card
Weaving baskets the first time with paper was really hard becasue the paper was too soft and flimsy.
Les - Trying to weave the corners was confusing, but I got there in the end. We were supposed to be making hats using the basket as the beginning but the final stage was too difficult.
Reremoana - Using cardboard was easier than using paper, but it was still tricky making the corners.
